ABOUT ROBOTIC RAMPAGE
We are a team from Salem, Virginia participating in FIRST Robotics, specifically at the First Tech Challenge level. We believe in the Mission and Vision of FIRST robotics and the valuable lessons and incredible opportunities it provides all participants.
It’s way more than building robots. FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.
Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.

Gracious Professionalism
Gracious Professionalism® is part of the ethos of FIRST. It’s a way of doing things that encourages high quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community. Gracious Professionalism is not clearly defined for a reason. It can and should mean different things to everyone.
Discovery
We believe in learning by doing. Our team members get to learn by using their hands to build our robots and fabricate parts in our on-site machine shop.
Innovation
We believe in problem solving through creativity and perseverance. Our team also has multiple mentors and coaches that help guide our team members on the path to solving our problems.
Impact & Outreach
A large part of what we do is teaching others what we've learned. We do this through summer camp and other outreach programs around the Roanoke-Salem area.
Teamwork & Fun
Teamwork and fun are both very important to our team. We want our team members to have fun being with each other to make our team stronger!
